- Éste es un curso de milagros. ²Es un curso obligatorio. ³Sólo el momento en que decides tomarlo es voluntario. ⁴Tener libre albedrío no quiere decir que tú mismo puedas establecer el plan de estudios. ⁵Significa únicamente que puedes elegir lo que quieres aprender en cualquier momento dado. ⁶Este curso no pretende enseñar el significado del amor, pues eso está mucho más allá de que se puede enseñar. ⁷Pretende, no obstante, despejar los obstáculos que impiden experimentar la presencia del amor, el cual es tu herencia natural. ⁸Lo opuesto al amor es el miedo, pero aquello que lo abarca todo no puede tener opuestos.
2. Este curso puede, por lo tanto, resumirse muy simplemente de la siguiente manera:
²Nada real puede ser amenazado.
³Nada irreal existe. ⁴En esto reside la paz de Dios.

"Mas para ti, Jesús es el portador del único mensaje de Cristo acerca del Amor de Dios. ⁵No tienes necesidad de ningún otro. ⁶Es posible leer sus palabras y beneficiarse de ellas sin aceptarlo en tu vida. ⁷Mas él te ayudaría todavía más si compartieras con él tus penas y alegrías, y renunciaras a ambas para hallar la Paz de Dios. ⁸Sin embargo, lo que él quiere que aprendas por encima de todo sigue siendo la lección que vino a enseñar, la cual reza así:
La muerte no existe porque el Hijo de Dios es como su Padre. ¹⁰No puedes hacer nada que pueda alterar el Amor Eterno. ¹¹Olvida tus sueños de pecado y de culpabilidad, y en su lugar ven conmigo a compartir la resurrección del Hijo de Dios. ¹²Y trae contigo a todos aquellos que Él te ha enviado para que cuides de ellos como yo cuido de ti."
