"No Surrender" is of course a well know phrase but to "know Surrender" that is to surrender your self to the Lord Jesus, the Christ is more than a well known phrase. It is the key to eternal life.

The Divine Shield of the Spiritual Little Ones
Jan 09, 2026Send us a text
We explore the grave spiritual consequences associated with harming or misleading individuals defined as "little ones" in the Christian scriptures. The author argues that this term extends beyond young children to encompass new converts and vulnerable believers who are humble in their faith. By referencing the biblical imagery of a heavy millstone, the passage illustrates the severity of divine judgement facing those who cause such followers to stumble or sin. It serves as a stern warning to religious leaders and institutions against distorting biblical truths or exploiting the weak. Ultimately, the source emphasises...

Jan 09, 2026Send us a text
The biblical narrative of Genesis 47:1–12, detailing the arrival of Jacob’s family in Egypt and their strategic settlement in the region of Goshen. Through Joseph’s careful preparation, five brothers were presented to Pharaoh to request land, a number chosen for its symbolic association with grace and its cultural favour in Egypt. By identifying as shepherds, the family avoided total assimilation into Egyptian society, maintaining a distinct spiritual identity while receiving the best available pasture. The texts highlight the profound moment when Jacob blessed Pharaoh, demonstrating that true spiritual authority transcends worldly power or roy...

A Christmas Special Thomas Babington Macaulay’s view of the 1688 Revolution as a conservative act that secured England’s future stability. By prioritising historical precedent over abstract theory, the English preserved their ancient laws while the rest of Europe suffered through violent upheavals. The sources highlight how the transition to a statutory monarchy ended the dangerous "superstition" of divine right, subordinating the Crown to the law. This shift established a framework for parliamentary supremacy, allowing all subsequent social and political progress to occur within the constitution. Ultimately, Macaulay argues that England escaped the chao...

The provided sources argue for the historical authenticity of Jesus by contrasting the extensive surviving evidence of his life with that of other well-accepted figures like Julius Caesar. These texts emphasise that the sheer volume of ancient manuscripts and references from secular historians provides a firm scholarly foundation for his existence and ministry. Beyond historical data, the documents highlight the profound conviction of the apostles, who were willing to face execution rather than renounce their testimony. The narrative also explores how dedicated sceptics, such as Albert Henry Ross and the author himself, transitioned...

An exposition of the biblical narrative concerning Jacob's (Israel's) journey to Egypt to escape famine and reunite with his son, Joseph. The sources focus on the divine assurance given to Jacob at Beersheba, where God commanded him not to fear the move, promising to make his family into a great nation and eventually bring them back to the Promised Land. The explanation underscores that the journey was necessary for the preservation and growth of the Israelite family, which began with seventy people but was destined to become a large nation. We divine providence primarily through the biblical narrative of Joseph and his brothers, explaining how God uses human sin and suffering to accomplish a greater ultimate purpose. They emphasise that Joseph's enslavement, though resulting from the evil actions of his brothers, was actually orchestrated by God to preserve the lives of his family and ensure the formation of Israel as a distinctive nation. This theological perspective challenges believers to adopt Joseph’s mindset, encouraging forgiveness of personal grievances by acknowledging that even wrongs committed against them are woven into God's sovereign plan. The te...

A theological exposition on Genesis 44, analysing the transformative moment when Judah intercedes for his younger brother, Benjamin. The core argument focuses on Judah’s impassioned speech to Joseph, highlighting the dramatic offering of himself as a substitutionary slave to secure Benjamin’s freedom. This act of heroic self-sacrifice is presented as conclusive proof of the brothers' genuine repentance, contrasting sharply with their previous cruelty towards Joseph. The material structurally details how God employs trials to reveal character and how a truly changed heart expresses itself through selfless, sacrificial love for family. Ultimately, the text...

A short address presented to a Protestant association, uses historical military crises to highlight the necessity of spiritual reliance over human strength and numbers. The author draws a distinct connection between the seemingly impossible odds faced during the Siege of Londonderry in 1688 and the miraculous survival of Britain during the Second World War, specifically referencing the unexpected success of events like the evacuation at Dunkirk and the D-Day landings. Citing Psalm 3, the argument asserts that true national deliverance stems from God, who acts as a shield when believers cry out to Him. The...

Review of a sermon, offer an exegesis of Genesis 44:1-17, focusing on Joseph's final test of his brothers using a planted silver cup. Both sources detail how Joseph instructs his steward to place the symbolic cup in Benjamin’s sack, setting a trap designed not for punishment but for revelation of the brothers' character change. The narrative highlights the brothers’ shock, their tearful return to Egypt, and Judah’s willingness to offer himself as a slave in place of Benjamin, proving that their hearts are now ruled by love and loyalty, unlike when they b...

A comprehensive analysis of Genesis 43:15–34, interpreting the biblical passage as a theological "masterclass in divine providence, human confusion, and the slow unveiling of grace." The central theme is the brothers' inability to recognize Joseph, their estranged brother, who is now a powerful Egyptian official, and their subsequent fearful misinterpretation of his great kindness as a potential trap rather than genuine generosity. The texts examine specific elements of the story, such as Joseph's emotional weeping, the unexpected washing of their feet, and the shocking prophetic reversal when Benjamin receives a portion of food five ti...

The Nicene Creed in Reformed Theology
Nov 06, 2025Send us a text
An extensive examination of the Nicene Creed, which was established in 325 AD and serves as a foundational affirmation of faith, particularly within the Reformed theological tradition. They systematically outline the core Christian doctrines articulated in the Creed concerning the Trinity, defining God as one divine being existing as three distinct persons: the Father, the Son (Jesus Christ), and the Holy Spirit. The texts explain the attributes of God the Father as sovereign and creator; affirm Jesus Christ's dual nature as both fully human and fully divine, being co-eternal and co-substantial with the Father; a...

A discussion on a sermon based on Genesis 41:37–57, which recount the biblical story of Joseph's elevation to a ruler in Egypt under Pharaoh. Both sources focus on five key theological truths drawn from the passage, primarily asserting that Pharaoh is a mortal man and not a god, subject to the true sovereignty of God. They highlight Joseph's wisdom as a divine gift and stress that his subsequent promotion was not an excuse for idleness but a call to diligent service and stewardship. Furthermore, the sources caution against interpreting Joseph's success through the lens of...

This is a sermon from a Protestant minister who, though not Anglican, addresses the recent election of the new Archbishop of Canterbury. The minister expresses strong theological objections to the appointment, arguing that the selection of a woman, Bishop Sarah Mullally, violates the divine order for church leadership as established in Scripture, citing passages requiring bishops to be men. Furthermore, the minister raises serious doctrinal concerns regarding the Archbishop-elect’s perceived support for same-sex blessings and Eucharistic Adoration, which the minister views as a departure from the core tenets of the Reformation and th...

The author uses Joseph's life, specifically his interpretation of Pharaoh’s dreams and the subsequent proposal of a plan to save Egypt, to illustrate what unwavering dedication to God looks like, even in dangerous circumstances. The text identifies several marks of Joseph's dedication, including faithfulness in obscurity during two years of prison silence, humility in deflecting credit...

Discussion on sermon excerpts and theological reflections concerning the biblical narrative of Genesis 40, specifically the dreams of Pharaoh’s cupbearer and baker, which Joseph interprets. The central theme explored across the texts is God's sovereignty over all outcomes, emphasising that God's answers are not always symmetrical, resulting in both restoration and judgment even in identical circumstances. The texts stress that the gospel message itself contains this duality, offering both hope and warning, and call believers to faithful service and truth-telling with integrity even when outcomes are painful or delayed, reminding them that God’s si...

A discussion based on a sermon titled “Faithfulness in the Furnace: Joseph’s Integrity in the Dark,” focusing on the biblical narrative found in Genesis 39:12–23. The text explores how Joseph maintained integrity by fleeing temptation when Potiphar's wife falsely accused him, resulting in his unjust imprisonment. The sermon emphasises that Joseph’s faithfulness was rooted in reverence for God rather than fear of consequence, and it highlights the powerful refrain, “But the Lord was with Joseph,” even during his suffering. Finally, the source asserts that Joseph serves as a type or foreshadowing of Christ, being...

The message is applied directly to the preacher's own small congregation, the Bootle Protestant Free Church, contrasting their focus on the "word of God" and avoidance of theatrics with larger, resource-rich churches that rely on modern methods to...

This passage centres on a biblical sermon that examines the story of Joseph and Potiphar's wife from Genesis 39:1-10. The speaker uses Joseph's unwavering faithfulness in the face of temptation as a moral compass for contemporary Christians. The sermon emphasises that true sin is rebellion against God and highlights the dangers of compromise in faith, which is presented as a greater failure than indulgence in sin itself. Ultimately, the text urges believers to cultivate a God-centred perspective, guard their hearts daily, and flee from sin rather than flirting with it, echoing Joseph's courageous...

The sermon explores the Christian concept of God as light, emphasising the stark contrast between divine purity and human darkness, or sin. It examines the call for believers to "walk in the light," shunning compromise and embracing a life of truth, as outlined in scripture, particularly 1 John 1:5. The speaker addresses the challenges of maintaining faith in a hostile world, referencing the church of Pergamos in Revelation 2 as an example of spiritual compromise. Finally, the sermon concludes with two critical questions for self-examination: what the Bible represents to an individual, and who Jesus Christ...
