In 2023, a Massachusetts middle school violated a student's First Amendment right to free speech. This student wore a t-shirt with a saying which violated the rules of the woke cult. A lawsuit was then brought forth in defense of this young man's Constitutional Rights and a Massachusetts court ruled against him. In May of 2025, the United States Supreme Court refused to hear the case. Paula Cofrancesco, a first selectman for Bethany, CT, is accused in a 229 page independent report, of having knowledge of sexual abuse allegations of a town Park and Recreations employee, Anthony Mastrangelo, and did nothing. She is accused of not investigating the allegations and not removing Mastrangelo from his position, a position in which his role involved interaction with children. I read an article and get into it. I was given a tip about unhinged Facebook posts made by an English teacher at Waterville Senior High School in Waterville, Maine. I was sent screen shots of what this educator had posted. I read these unhinged posts as well as the response from the Secret Service. In these posts, this educator advocated for political violence and even doubled down on these statements. There is a house bill in Connecticut, HB 7033, which is aimed at protecting the homeless population in Connecticut from harassment or arrest for doing such things as eating, standing or even sleeping in public areas. The educational system has been in decline for decades. Children's tests scores continue to slide and we even have schools where not one child is proficient. Children are graduating and they can't even read. Due to a chance encounter, I discussed the matter with two local educators and you all have no idea how bad it is. Connecticut residents have been shocked by how high their electric bills have gotten since the recent, state approved increase, which went into effect July 1st. Now, as of today, 8/14/24, the Connecticut legislature has approved, unanimously, an 80 million dollar bill to improve the electric grid and charging stations for electric vehicles!
