Posted on Rolexstories.com homepage for several years, this it is exactly 37 years ago on the day this was recorded that I purchased my wrist watch, the one commented on by so many YouTube viewers. So I thought I should do a story about it. It is a Rolex Oyster Submariner 1680 date in stainless steel, purchased 8 January 1981. I wear it every day. August 2023.

In my 35 years as a motoring journalist, the relationship I forged with some car makers was stormy at best.
