Shayla, Ken, and Kyle are back from the holidays, and so they play catch-up to see how the movies performed. The three of them also criticize the Oscars for finally enforcing voters to watch all the films, which should've been a rule already.

The whole darn crew, Codi, Ken, Shayla, Alyssa & Kyle all gather for the first episode of 2026! We look through the 2026 release calendar to see what movies theaters everywhere should be aware of, and also discuss their favorite Popcorn Bucket Picks of 2025.

Shayla, Kyle, and Alyssa all celebrate the final day at the office by making last-minute announcements regarding trailers attached to the Avatar movie. They also discuss the importance of discovering new movies for Gen Alpha and how Iron Lung could serve as an example of that. Finally, they create a new guessing game involving film ratings for some iconic and lesser-known movies.

Shayla, Kyle, and Ken don't know a lot about business, but they still take it upon themselves to discuss Paramount's last big attempt to claim Warner Bros from Netflix. They predict Avatar: Fire & Ash's opening weekend, discuss the struggles booking the finale of Stranger Things, and explain (as best as they can) the big deal with the upcoming movie Iron Lung.

Be prepared, because no one of this episode is happy about Netflix buying out Warner Bros. studios. Listen to Codi, Kyle, and Ken discuss why this has happened, and what movie theaters should prepare for as the industry makes another massive change.

They also cover the movies coming out for the holidays, such as Five Nights at Freddy's 2 and The Housemaid. And for the 1,000th time, we find something new that makes us all feel old.

Alyssa explains to Kyle and Shayla what is so different about Act 2 versus Act 1, followed by the three of them gushing over the upcoming spoof movie from Bleecker Street, Fackham Hall. They also recap the release of Taylor Swift's newest movie, great expectations for Tron: Ares, and discuss how Barbarian is one of the most disturbing horror movies in recent years.

Codi, Kyle, and Ken are all back from the Rocky Mountain Theatre Convention and share their entire experience and why they recommend attending. She shares many stories about the upgrades to the theater, her dedication to bringing back movie events to her community, and even recounts tales of being haunted by spirits.

Bids are being made for WB by Paramount and Netflix, so Shayla, Codi, and Kyle are at the mics to discuss all the aspects around this news. Codi gets to pump her fist for Demon Slayer's big opening, but shakes her fist at Taylor Swift for coming back to theaters.

Alyssa, Shayla and Kyle get together to understand how the popcorn bucket trend has grown, and if it is a successful business strategy. They also praise the success of the latest Conjuring movie opening, while explaining why theaters shouldn't be scared away by horror and R-rated movies.

Shayla, Kyle, and Ken reunite to discuss the October releases after Mortal Kombat 2 and Shelby Oaks moved their dates. The three also debate whether HIM and The Long Walk could pop while The Conjuring: Last Rites takes over September, and decide if Jordan Peele is about to move on from Universal.

Shayla and Kyle explain why movie theaters benefit from advertising through TikTok and bring a new study to back it up, while Ken's eyes glaze over. They also talk about the Beetlejuice sequel off to a big running start, and despite the new Minecraft movie trailer looking terrible, it'll be one of the biggest movies of 2025.

As we reach the second half of 2024, the crew looks back on a surprising first half of the year. They give credit to the mid-range movies from independent studios and what they did right in terms of marketing. Could the big studios look at the success of others and start returning more mid-budget movies to theaters because of this? They also have thoughts over the first trailer to Lord Of The Rings: The War Of Rohirrim and why on Earth Chick Fil-A is developing a streaming service.

Ken is back to brag about his trip to Ireland, and is joined by Kyle, Alyssa and Shayla in the podcast's first ever four person episode. As we get closer to Civil War's April release, questions are rumbling from movie theaters about what to expect from it due to its subject matter. Fortunately, Ken and Kyle got to see the movie early, and discuss what the movie is about and what theaters should expect from it. With Codi back in the studio, the three of them also talk about IMAX planning on showing the opening ceremony of the summer Olympics.

Kyle and Ken hold down the fort for Codi while we is away, so it's up to them to "celebrate" the 5 year anniversary of the Disney-Fox merger. It was also a busy week for the industry as they released 6 new trailers, so Kyle and Ken go over which movies show a lot of promise for the rest of 2024. They also discuss who the potential new buyer is for Paramount Pictures, and Kyle gives his thoughts on the upcoming movies Arcadian and Boy Kills World.

For the first time (in a long time), Codi, Kyle and Ken talk about a very good Oscars show, along with the satisfying results. The three of them bring their predictions for what the opening gross could be, and how things could play out in its entire theatrical run. Codi and Kyle also discuss Lionsgate making a live-action movie of the anime, Naruto, while Ken wishes he could be anywhere else to avoid the nerd talk.

We are just days away from the release of Dune Part 2, which will bring the industry's mood back up after weeks of underwhelming movies. But that doesn't mean everything is perfect, after Kyle and Ken take note of IATSE (International Alliance of Theatrical Stage Employees) starting to hint at a possible strike. Kyle also gives his thoughts on Drive-Away Dolls and an upcoming April release called Sasquatch Sunset.

Kyle informs Codi and Ken that Regal has been playing less trailers than usual at their theaters, so speculating begins on if other chains will follow. Kyle also gives a quick review of the upcoming horror movie Immaculate, while also addressing his disappointment with Lisa Frankenstein's box office. The hosts have noticed some theaters being unsure of playing Dune Part 2 at their theaters, so they break down the reasons why it will perform better than the previous movie.
