Her childhood best friend Yvonne (CCH Pounder) is struggling with addiction and dealing with a violent dealer named Swain. Valerie flies into Miami after receiving a worrisome call from her Goddaughter, Lynette, and tries to help out Yvonne, but, things only unravel more once Swain is not content with taking Yvonne's money and dealing with her late payments. He suggests something very sinister, her daughter, which Yvonne agrees to. Yvonne ends up dead and Lynette is refusing to ID Swain or talk to...

This week on Miami Vice: How do you do, fellow kids? In this spinoff attempt, Joey is back with some other "kids" (actors in their late 20s and early 30s) as part of the "Young Criminals Unit" to infiltrate the shady world of a professor and his mysteriously dying students. These deaths have him and a super strong drug in common, and it's up to the newcomers to stop him before it's too late. Could it be the eclectic artist with a penchant for violence and knives (Cory Tagawa is back)? Continuity be damned this episode as Castillo can't decipher whether these markings as Japanese or Thai (despite previously living there, speaking Thai in previous episodes and being married to a Thai woman...?) so Vice enlists the help of a professor of Asian studies to help them catch the killer. This week on Miami Vice: Vice is put in charge of a key witness in a trial against a drug kingpin named Quintero. The FBI thinks the witness will be safer with Vice, and Vice has their hands full when he tries to sneak out to hit the clubs. Crockett and Keith, the witness, butt heads but, the generation gap narrows as they get to know each other better. This episode might be dated in my 2024 (RIP Expos) but, some things, like bumping heads with your elders, never change.

This week on Miami Vice: Sonny Burnett is back as we open Season Five. He's working for a new bigwig, Oscar Carrera, and is helping him with logistical issues until his son, Miguel and his wife, Celeste make things way more complicated. Tubbs goes under as Cooper to try and see if he can jog his memory as Carrera fights with his son and his rival, El Gato - the brother of the recently departed Manolo from Mirror Image. Everything is going to Burnett's plan until he and Cooper meet up and then boom - to be continued!

This week on Miami Vice: Sonny goes back undercover to get closer to two bigwigs: Manolo and Gutierrez - against Tubb's wishes and ends up in an explosion. He survives (not to Vice's knowledge) but, has amnesia and now believes that he is his alter ego, Sonny Burnett. As he gets deeper into this new world, Tubbs is digging deeper into Manolo and Gutierrez (Antonio Fargas!) to figure out what really happened on that boat with help from the Ft. Lauderdale precinct. The same precinct that's trying to track down an internal leak to Gutierrez! What a season finale...

This week on Miami Vice: Evil is the theme of this week as Vice hears about home invasions gone wrong when a 15-year old girl is killed, and the style matches that of Frank Hackman... remember him? From "Forgive Us Our Debts"? He shot and killed Crockett's former partner, was on death row until Crockett helped get him out, believing he was innocent. Nope! And now Crockett is about to cross paths with Hackman again right as Caitlin comes home from tour with a secret in tow.
And I finish the episode off with some Sheena Easton Viced...

This week on Miami Vice: It's come to this - a clip show! Crockett is shot in a chase gone awry and we see flashbacks of his life through Sonny and the Vice team.

This week on Miami Vice: In a very creepy episode, Vice gets involved in an investigator over a serial killer and rapist of teenage girls once it's discovered the girls had 100% pure cocaine injected into their bloodstream, narrowing their circle of suspects to local drug kingpins. Crockett and Tubbs are undercover at another kingpin's house by the name of Palmo when this all goes down, which complicates matters, but also helps them use their expertise to get the serial killer in their midst.

This week on Miami Vice: Crockett is left in charge of OCB while Castillo is going undercover to get closer to a kingpin named Acosta, who works for a bigger wig named Levec. When their shipment gets intercepted right in front of them, they're able to track one of the perps back to the Miccosukee Reservation. Tubbs then goes undercover at the Reservation to get more intel and find out what is the connection between the tribe and who is interrupting the coke shipments.

This week on Miami Vice: Crockett and Tubbs are tasked with protecting witnesses testifying in a RICO trial against a bigtime New Jersey mafioso named Frank Mosca (Stanley Tucci who came to play!). Despite all the precautions and obtaining an anonymous jury, witnesses still get whacked and they can't directly pin Mosca, and things get hairier when he goes after Crockett's informant. Crockett refuses to name his informant in a cross-examination in court and gets thrown in jail (again!) for not being a snitch, while his snitch ends up in jail on a shady drug charge... uh oh!

This week on Miami Vice: Crockett and Tubbs get raided by the DEA while making a deal with Esteban Montaya (Ian McShane) and after they take the goods... they realize something's off. As they try to uncover unsavoury DEA involvement, Internal Affairs eye Crockett and Tubbs. They try to use old contacts to get more info, one of which is a DEA agent, a woman who is at the end of her rope with quite possibly the worst luck you can imagine.
