The Center for Food as Medicine & Longevity has just released its latest 3 year study on the quality of water on board airplanes, and the results and recommendations are disturbing.  The study ranks water quality by airline, from best to worst, and says nearly all airlines need to make some changes to address bacteria found in some samples.  Amy and T.J. go over the findings and add a little perspective from a microbiologist after the break.

Police have charged actor and director Timothy Busfield with two counts of criminal sexual conduct with a minor.  Police say the abuse happened on the set of “The Cleaning Lady” when the boys were just 7 and 8 years old.  Busfield is married to actress Melissa Gilbert who has recently spoken out about child sex abuse on sets.  Busfield is known for his roles in “Thirtysomething” and “The West Wing” and has suggested the allegations are revenge for the boys being replaced on the show.

Columbus Police just announced  they have arrested 39 year old Michael David McKee, a vascular surgeon and the ex husband of Monique Tepe.  Police say McKee is responsible for brutally murdering Monique and her husband Spencer while their toddlers were sleeping in the house.  Amy and T.J. go over the latest details in this developing story.

It’s been 2 months and one day since the asphyxiated body of 18-year-old Anna Kepner was found under the bed of her cabin aboard a Carnival cruise ship during a family vacation. While Kepner’s death has been classified as a homicide, no arrests have been made and no official suspect has been named, by the FBI. Following the shooting death of a 37 year old woman by ICE agents, DHS secretary Kristi Noem held an evening presser where she referred to the actions of the woman as domestic terrorism.  That woman has been identified as Renee Good, a mother and Twin Cities resident.  Her death has sparked peaceful protests around the country, an FBI investigation and two very different accounts of what actually happened as we continue to see new angles of the incident from multiple cell phone cameras.

It was the response 51-year-old Susan Avalon gave police when they approached her about the shooting death of her ex-husband that made them realize they had a much bigger case on their hands. Avalon responded “Which one?” That's when police did a welfare check on ex-husband number 2 and found him, also shot dead in his home. The jury has the day off, but it will be a critical day in the trial of Adrian Gonzales, the officer accused of failing to act during Uvalde school massacre.  A teacher's testimony yesterday prompted numerous, strong objections from the defense.  And today, lawyers and the judge will gather in the courtroom to determine if the trial that Uvalde parents have been anxiously awaiting for nearly 4 years, will continue.

33-year-old Martha Nolan was found dead just after midnight on a boat in Montauk’s exclusive yacht club in early August. The Department of Homeland Security put out a series of posts, one showing screenshots of two emails cancelling reservations of known ICE agents.  Even though Hilton quickly distanced itself from the hotel chain in question and apologized along with the hotel’s management company,  Hilton stock fell 2.5% on Monday.  DHS used incendiary language in its posts, saying Hilton was siding with rapists and murderers and conservative pundits quickly took advantage of the situation on social media calling for a boycott of Hilton hotels and spreading misinformation.

It’s now officially 2026, and there are still no arrests in the death of 15-year-old Celeste Rivas, the teenager found dismembered and decomposing in the Tesla owned by singer D4VD back in early August. Ousted President Nicolás Maduro and his wife Cilia Flores made their first court appearance in Manhattan this morning to face narco-terrorism, drug and weapons charges.  They two pleaded not guilty, but they managed to get in a few more words than that.  While this fascinating scene was unfolding inside the courtroom, two separate factions of demonstrators surrounded the courthouse, some thanking President Trump and some wanting Maduro set free.

The children of former Minnesota House Speaker Melissa Hortman are pleading with President Trump to remove a video he reposted on social media alleging Minnesota Governor Tim Walz is behind their mother and father’s assassinations. Governor Walz going even further, saying Trump’s post is going to “get more innocent people killed.”

Police are asking for the public’s help in trying to solve a double homicide in Columbus, Ohio.   37 year old Dr. Spencer Tepe and his wife, 39 year old Monique Tepe were both found shot to death on December 30th after Tepe failed to show up for work.  Police found their two toddlers unharmed in the home, with no signs of forced entry and no weapon left behind.

Jury selection begins on Monday for 59 year old Paul Caneiro who is facing first degree murder charges for the quadruple murder of his family members.  Prosecutors also allege Caneiro burned down his own home along with his brother’s to try and cover up the brutal crime.  Amy and T.J. go over the horrific details in the case and why it’s taken nearly 8 years for the trial to begin.

President Trump’s hour long press conference had several bombshells in it.  First, Trump told Americans the U.S. will run Venezuela until a proper transition can take place.  He also said U.S. oil companies would be going into Venezuela to rebuild the infrastructure and start making money.  We also learned that Venezuelan President Maduro and his wife will "face the full might of American justice" and stand trial in the United States.  As of this recording, they are both on a U.S. warship headed to New York.

The man accusing Tyler Perry in a $77 million dollar, Christmas Day sexual assault lawsuit feels he has some explaining to do.  In newly revealed text messages, Mario Rodriguez showers Perry with praise and affection, but also asks for money.  And, the messages were 5 years after Rodriguez claimed to have cut off communication with Perry.  Rodriguez is now defending the messages as "not inconsistent with abuse."

A Texas father found his 15-year-old daughter after she was kidnapped taking the family dog for a walk on Christmas, because of a tracking app on his phone. Using parental controls, he was able to find her in her kidnapper’s pickup truck in a partially wooded area and alert police. The Trump-appointed board of the Kennedy Center has sent a scathing letter with notice of a forthcoming million dollar lawsuit to the lead jazz musician who canceled a decades long Christmas Eve concert in protest of the decision to put President Trump’s name on the building.  Meantime, a member of Congress has now sued the Trump administration for what she calls the illegal name change and two other members of Congress have introduced legislation to try and prevent a sitting president from naming any Federal asset after themselves.

Tyler Perry is facing a second sexual assault lawsuit from another aspiring actor, this time for $77 million dollars, and it was filed on Christmas Day.  Perry’s lawyer has come out swinging, saying this is just another “money grab” that will fail, pointing out the very same lawyer who filed the earlier lawsuit against Perry is now representing his second accuser.

After the Department of Justice announced they were investigating an alleged suicide letter signed by J. Epstein to  Larry Nassar,  it followed up confirming the FBI deemed the letter a  “FAKE.”  The letter, which claims “our President likes young nubile girls too”,  was one of the more incendiary files released in the DOJ Epstein file drop on Tuesday.   This latest back and forth has made the entire process even more confusing and frustrating, with the DOJ now eroding any trust in what we are reading or seeing.

Veteran 60 minutes correspondent Sharon Alfonsi wrote a private email to her colleagues about why she believes her segment on deplorable conditions for deported migrants was pulled at the 11th hour by new CBS Editor-In-Chief Bari Weiss. That email has now been made public, and in it, Alfonsi says her story was vetted, promoted and ready for air, when Weiss pulled it for so called “editorial” reasons.  Alfonsi isn’t buying it, saying the network’s decision is a “betrayal of the most basic tenet of journalism.”

This week, Phoenix residents finally saw justice for a 3 week long killing spree that ended in the murders of convicted killer Cleophus Cooksey Jr’s mom and stepfather.   Cooksey was convicted of killing 8 people in total, but the jury was hung on giving a death sentence for the murders of his mom and stepdad,  and now the DA is considering retrying Cooksey because of it!  Hear what the DA and a family friend had to say about the evil they saw in Cooksey and why they say he is the reason why we need the death penalty in this count...

Miss Finland 2025 has been stripped of her title after a photo was posted of her pulling her eyes and smiling with the caption “Eating with a Chinese."  But the controversy grew even bigger when several members of the Finnish Parliament recreated their own, exceptionally racist photos and posted them online in solidarity with Miss Finland. The Prime Minister has apologized to Asian nations, but now there is talk of a tourism boycott and an even larger conversation about racism in this world.

As the judge imposed the maximum sentence for Brian Walshe, she took the opportunity to let her feelings be known, saying her sentence was appropriate given his  murderous acts and the life trauma he’s caused his children. Walshe was convicted last week of the first degree murder of his wife Ana after admitting to dismembering her body and misleading police. Just before sentencing, the court heard directly from Ana’s sister who eloquently spoke about her family’s loss and the deep pain and grief they feel every single day.

Rhode Island officials held a late day press conference as the manhunt for the Brown University shooter continued for a fifth day. Authorities are asking for the public’s help in identifying a man who may have encountered the actual shooter. They also gave an update on the hospitalized victims of the attack.

32-year-old Nick Reiner simply said “Yes Your Honor” today in court, but his attorney and siblings had much more to say following his brief hearing. While his attorney asked reporters not to jump to conclusions, Nick’s siblings, Jake and Romy Reiner released a powerful statement also asking that speculation “be tempered with compassion and humanity”

The husband and wife leaders of “His Way Spirit Led Assemblies” were charged with murder along with two other members after the death of a 4-year-old boy and a 40-year-old man. Police say the murders happened more than 10 years apart, and there is another member who has been missing since 2019. Former members of the group who managed to escape, describe the bizarre and at times frightening atmosphere they lived in, for years.

The state of Georgia has just suspended the execution of 52-year-old Stacey Humphreys scheduled for this Wednesday. Because two members of its pardons and parole board have alleged conflicts of interest, the clemency hearing scheduled for today has now been “postponed until further notice.”  Humphreys had already made headlines earlier for his exorbitant and jaw dropping last meal request which you have to hear to believe. Criminal Defense Attorney Alison Triessl joins Amy and T.J. to discuss today’s sooner than expected guilty verdict in the Brian Walshe trial. Triessl talks about how the defense overplayed its hand, and already had an uphill battle with those devastating and gruesome searches Brian made shortly after his wife Ana’s death. Despite the prosecution’s lackluster presentation, and the lack of a body or known cause of death, it took the jury less than 6 hours to return a guilty verdict.

After less than 6 hours the jury in the Brian Walshe trial came back with the unanimous decision to find him guilty as charged. Walshe appeared emotionless and had zero interaction with his defense team as the decision was read aloud.

Police have confirmed they have a man in custody in connection with Saturday’s mass shooting at Brown University that left 2 students dead and 9 others injured. The shelter in place order was finally lifted more than 13 hours after the university told students to “Run, Hide or Fight” with an armed, active shooter on campus. 39-year-old Sherrone Moore is waking up with an electronic monitoring device after being charged with felony third degree home invasion, stalking and breaking and entering. Moore was fired by the University of Michigan earlier this week after they learned of a years long inappropriate relationship with a staffer. Within an hour, prosecutors say he barged into that woman’s house and everything unraveled from there in a shocking series of events.

The prosecution spent a little more than half an hour trying to convince the jury to use their common sense and convict Brian Walshe of First Degree murder for what they call the “violent death” of his wife Ana on New Year’s Day three years ago. Just after noon ET, the jury began their deliberations and were given three options for their verdict: Guilty of first-degree murder, guilty of second-degree murder, or not guilty.

The defense attorney for Brian Walshe, Larry Tipton,  spent this morning making his best case for why jurors should find Brian Walshe not guilty of first degree murder in the death of his wife Ana. Despite the gruesome searches and the fact that Walshe has admitted to dismembering and disposing of his wife’s body, Tipton told jurors that there is no evidence that Brian ever once thought about harming his wife, claiming the only evidence was love.
