Forgotten Filmcast

On this week's episode we take a look at a film that mixes a spaghetti western with a kung fu movie. Shane Conto from the Wasteland Reviewer joins us to look at Lee Van Cleef and Lo Lieh in 1974's The Stranger and the Gunfighter. Of course, we also have our usual movie recommendations, as well as our trivia game.

On this week's episode we check out an early effort from director Renny Harlin. Get ready for 1987's Prison. It stars Lane Smith and Viggo Mortensen in an early role. Of course, if we're going to talk about a Renny Harlin film, our guest has to be the host of Deep Blue Sea the Podcast Jay Cluitt! We also have our usual movie recommendations, and our trivia game...which includes a surprise from our guest, who has apparently been keeping score all year.

On this week's episode we look at yet another film from director Matthew Robbins. In the past we've done The Legend of Billie Jean and Corvette Summer, but this time we look at his attempt at doing a dog meets boy story...1991's Bingo. Jason Soto from Rabbit Hole Podcasts joins us for our main discussion. Of course, we also have our usual trivia game and movie recommendations to round out the episode.

On this week's episode we get a different twist on a classic Shakespeare tale. Matt Poirier from Direct to Video Connoisseur joins us to discuss the 2001 take on Macbeth...Scotland, PA. We also have our movie recommendations and our trivia game.

Joining us to discuss this one we have one of the biggest 70's film junkies we know, Dave Anderson from Free Kittens Movie Guide. We also test Dave's knowledge in our trivia game and throw in a few movie recommendations at the end of the show.

On this week's episode, we go on a cross-country road trip with a couple of kids in a stolen rental in 1993's Josh and S.A.M.  Hitting the road with us we have first-time-guest Mark Hobin from Fast Film Reviews. Of course, we also make a pit stop for some movie recommendations and a few rounds of trivia. So buckle up, it's gonna be a wild ride!

On this episode we close out the Halloween season with a Horror Movie Grab Bag. Todd shares his thoughts on four forgotten horror flicks that he's watched recently.  We have some rock and roll horror with 1988's Black Roses. Then Ally Sheedy is a psychic battling a psychic serial killer in 1990's Fear. Next we have some Canadian giant bug madness with 1987's Blue Monkey. Finally, we'll close with Brittany Murphy in a 2009 ghost story called Deadline. We also have some trivia questions and a horror movie recommendation to end the show. 

We continue with our 2025 Halloween series this week with a true oddity. Brace yourselves for the 2002 film Ritual, starring Jennifer Grey, Craig Sheffer, and Tim Curry. The odd thing is, depending on how you watch the movie, it may or may not be the third instalment in the Tales from the Crypt series of films.  For our discussion we are joined by Kristen Lopez, who is currently authoring a book on all things Tales from the Crypt. So, boils and ghouls, join us if you dare!

What would Halloween be without a visit to a creepy old house? On this week's episode, Toby Roan joins us as we discuss the 1963 film House of the Damned. It's a film that is only 63 minutes long, so this sow is longer than the film itself! Of course, we also have our movie recommendations and a trivia game inspired by B movies of the 50's and 60's. It's October, so we're going to be focusing on Halloween appropriate films this month. We start things out with the 1987 horror thriller White of the Eye, starring David Keith and Cathy Moriarty. Horror junkie Lisa Leaheey, from Rabbit Hole Podcasts, joins us for our discussion. We also have some movie recommendations and a game inspired by the fact that Todd can never keep things straight between David Keith and Keith David.

On this week's episode we look at a 1987 film featuring an actress who was on the verge of winning an Oscar just a few months later. Cher won her Oscar for Moonstruck, but just a few months before that film was released, she stared in the courtroom drama Suspect. The film also features Dennis Quaid and Liam Neeson. On this week's episode we take a look at the lives of a couple of hitmen in the 1998 film Jerry and Tom. No, it doesn't involve the animated cat and mouse...that's Tom and Jerry. It has a stacked cast including Ray Liotta, Anthony LaPaglia, Angelica Huston, Daniel Baldwin, Jeremy Piven, and many more. It's a film that certainly paints Phoenix, Arizona as not a nice place to be. We also have our movie recommendations and our usual trivia game.

On this week's episode, we're going to take a look at the only film directed by actor James Caan. He stars along with Jill Eikenberry, and Robert Viharo in the 1980 film Hide in Plain Sight. Daniel Lackey joins us to discuss this "based on a true story" drama. We also have our movie recommendations and a trivia game inspired by actors who directed just one film. 

It's time to look at another time when an athlete turned actor. Join us we go back to the year 1998 when Howie Long starred in Firestorm.
