In the midst of Great Depression era Columbia, a young man was celebrating his 15th birthday. Intrigued by the prospect of a job opprotunity, he accepted a ride from a strange man as his mother looked on. Little did she nor the rest of the city realize that would be her son's last ride.

In August of 2020, a 25 year old man went missing in Myrtle Beach,SC. With no solid leads, authorities began to lean on his three roomates eventually unearthing what really happened one unsettling night on a "haunted road".

In the summer of 1991, an unhinged individual went to the Easley,SC Wal-Mart with terrible intentions. Over the span of thirty minutes, he had committed a litany of felonies that left two precious souls deceased. His motive was unknown, his method was unthinkable, and the results tragic.

This week, we bring you two wild Christmas tales from the palmetto state and get some amazing stories from our in studio guest, Chief Perry Sutton from his over 30 years serving our country in The U.S. Coast Guard.

After a terrible storm in 1985, an Aiken County mother awoke to realize her 4 year old son was missing from his bed. Searches, investigations, and theories were abound. We take a in depth look into the circumstances and possibilities surrounding his disappearance and prayers for his family that he may be found.

Six months removed from "The Summer of Love", the United States was a powder keg of change, violence, courage, and citizens fighting for their beliefs. South Carolina was no different and in the town of Orangeburg, students from the then South Carolina State College voiced their displeasures of wrong doings in the community. In 1997, a young Columbia couple had their whole lives in front of them. They were enjoying a new a budding romance, the prospect of college life, and their whole future. Unfortunately, not everyone wished the two well. Especially the ex boyfriend who just couldn't accept the situation.

In the second installment of this episode, the FBI starts to close in and put the pieces of the puzzle together before doling out justice to the masterminds of the McDonald's Monopoly scam that lasted from 1989-2001.

In 2001, an anonymous tipster called a local Florida FBI office alledging that the popular McDonald's Monopoly promotion had been rigged. Winthin an hour one man lay dead and the other fled. While the murder sounded like something straight out of the board game "Clue", it was the trial and media coverage that made this case more than noteworthy.

For over 180 years, a 200 acre plot of land was home to the South Carolina State Hospital that went through many name changes. Intent on being a humane way to treat and house the mentally ill, it was for some the last stop before a cruel death. We will examine testimony, stories from former employees and patients, give an overview of the history, and the cruelty that occurred in the heart of our capitol city.

In 2017, a beloved young man who had a remarkable comeback story was the victim of an evil trap. What he thought would be an innocent meet up with a young lady did not go as planned. His loving family frantically searched for him until the sinister plan was discovered.

In a case that captured national attention in 1929, a beautiful young schoolteacher went missing one Friday afternoon. Her husband was ill and in bed all day, at least according to him. This week we cover the scandal that spurred legend, lore, and facination for the past century in York County.

A customer on his route developed a deep seeded and irrational hatred for the man and acted on it one fateful day in 1903. In 1993, an elderly couple along with their adult son lived peacefully in Spartanburg County. The mother, Mary, served as a care taker and was beloved in her small community. That's why it was all the more shocking when tragedy befell their household.

What started as a getaway to Florida for one Virginia businessman ended in drunken tragedy for two men after hitchhikers were introduced to the equation. A rolling party, complete with drugs and debauchery turned fatal and the trip to The Sunshine State was traded for a trip to South Carolina's Death Row.

In September of 2020, Jasper County 911 received a disturbing call from a local motel. A young girl was found shot while propped up in the bed. Conflicting narratives, extra "detailed" alibis and mind games led authorities to the party responsible after a quick investigation.

In 2011, a young lady made a shocking report to N. Charleston Police detailing how she had been kidnapped and attacked. As shocked as they were, the real surprise came when they realized who the suspect was. Charges ramped up when more women showed the courage to come forward to create a picture of a serial offender.

Straight out of the Tiger King, we discuss the crimes and recent convictions of Myrle Beach resident Dr. Bhagavan Antle. We examine his beginnings, zoological parks, "medical" training, his infatuation with young ladies, and his eventual fall from grace.

In September of 2019, a local mail carrier in Williamsburg County was going about her daily routine and following protocol when a disgruntled resident on her route did the unthinkable.

As if the shooting wasn't bad enough, it was what was found around his body that ended up blowing the lid off of an intricate criminal operation that had been hidden in plain site.

In 2003, a relationship between two young Greenville County residents quickly went South and deteriorated. After constant pleas from the young woman to leave her alone, her jilted ex boyfriend could not comprehend her requests nor wanted to.

This week, we bring you two cases out of Greenville County. The first is a tale of a family secret gone awry and an extreme solution to their problem. The second is one of the oldest Cold Cases in the history of the county.

In 2007, a fire at a Pawley's Island home uncovered something much more sinister. In an attempt to cover up a robbery, assault, and murder, someone had taken the life of a beautiful soul and new grandmother. With seemingly no enemies, investigators weren't only looking for who did this but why?

In a remote area of Aiken County, human remains began being discovered in the late 1980's and early 1990's. The women found were all found in the same condition, around the same age, and of similar heritage. To this day, investigators are still trying to piece together what happened.

In January of 1971, two young men hatched a plan to kidnap noteworthy and wealthy people from Bennettsville,SC. Their plan was going well until they picked the wrong house and the wrong man. Their plan was futile but their motives weren't just for ransom. They were looking to make waves on a national scale.

Edgefield County and much of South Carolina was compared to the wild wild west in the 1840's. A political disagreement led to violence leaving two men maimed. That event would prove to be a precurser to a historical conflict that served as a prelude to the US Civil War.

May is a month of graduations which are usually marked by family celebrations, but that was not the case in 2000. A Furman University Senior's father was excited and set to celebrate his son's big day but didn't make it. We examine this cold case and evidence presented in the death of Michael McCuen.

In 1989, construction crews in Augusta,GA made an unnerving discovery. Under an iconic building once used as an institution of higher learning were the remains of possibly hundreds of human beings. It wasn't the hiding place for a serial killer, nor a mass grave. So how and why were the bones found there?

A whirlwind romance and marriage between a young Simpsonville woman and an Army Recruiter soon soured due to his penchant for hosting underaged students in their home. In 1947, a Greenville cab driver was robbed and stabbed to death by an unknown assailant. Once an arrest was made, an angry mob of the fallen's collegues chose to distribute justice in their own fashion. Instead of being held accountable in a court of law, an abomination of the legal system occured.

In 1950, two friends in Walhalla got together for what seemed to be a friendly visit. After several drives around town and in the countryside, one of the men and his two daughters were never heard from again. Disturbing and twisted tales were told by both sides in court and the suspect's life had to be saved by the South Carolina National Guard.

In 2019, a young man came home to discover an awful scene. His mother was deceased in the family's apartment, someone had tried to clean up, and his little sister was missing. Months of searching discovered the inevitable, all based on the story of an unhinged suspect.

In 1965, the discovery of a deceased young woman on Folly Beach shocked the community and her husband of two months. After an autopsy, what seemed to be a tragic drowning proved to be anything but.

A real estate disagreement between a West Ashley stepfather and stepson turned fatal in 2019. Multiple scuffles, calls to the police, and a turbulent home life build up to the unthinkable.

In 1990, the body of a reclusive 72 year old was found inside his home. No fould play was suspected, but as the Sheriff's Office and the Probbate Courts dug deeper, the more questions arose about a man that was way more than a mild mannered retiree.

In this episode, the most vulnerable of victims was found in February of 1990. DNA played a huge role in finding who was responsible with very questionable, if any, justice being served.

For eight years, beginning in the mid 1990's, a serial rapist terrorized women in Spartanburg County. Leaving his DNA at the crime scenes proved futile when investigators had no one to link it to. That was until a new fad in genealogical research came about to catch the monster.

In March of 1989, a Monck's Corner 5 year old did not get off the bus from Kindergarten. Searches ensued with a grizzly and puzzling discovery. Decades have passed, inquests performed, indictments issued then cancelled. Trials set, then cancelled. Suspects arrested and then released with political mudslinging to boot. But still, no justice for Justin.

In 2016, the Lexington County Sheriff's Office received a "not so frantic" call reporting a suicide at a home. When investigators arrived, there were several curiosities that made them reconsider what many thought was a stable relationship.

A mysterious shooting in 2012 lead to years of anguish for the family and friends of a beloved resident of Piedmont,SC. It took a new "cold case" unit to dig deep into the situation to finally discover the answers to what happened that fateful morning.

This week we take a break from the macbre an hit reset on one of our favorite South Carolina legends. In 1988, the world was taken by storm with reports of a "Lizard Man" reeking havoc near Scape Ore Swamp in Lee County. Stories, sightings, and fables all came out of this event with one resulting in an arrest.

A lovely aspiring singer in Spartanburg County vanished without a trace in 2004. All of the usual suspects were investigated an her disappearance remained a mystery until a physical key unlocked the answers.

This is a tragic taleof how substance abuse can ruin the minds of individuals to the point of committing heinous acts. The generosity of a kind soul is taken advantage of ending in a deadly way.

In early 2017, a young father uncharacteristically stopped communicating with his children. It was odd for the good man and good father to do so, especially when it went on for weeks. A gruesome discovery in a local fishing hole led to a mindbending investigation full of finger pointing, misplaced blames and unfounded suspicions.

In 2017, a Conway couple has found their second chance at love. In the process of building a beautiful life for themselves, they went missing. Days went by and convoluted stories about their whereabouts perplexed their dear family. Clues began to fall together when their pickup was discovered in the possession of the last person anyone would imagine doing them harm.

In 1961, a Columbia cab driver vanished after his last fare for the night. Several days later he was found miles away from his vehicle launching a murder investigation. After suspects were questioned, and the evidence was poured over the case went cold for 40 years, until the science of ballistics caught up to the accused killer.

All relationships have there up's and downs. The Fowlers in Boiling Springs were no exception. The high school sweethearts turned married parents had their issues but always seemed to work things out. That was until an evil plan fueled by greed and infidelity reared its ugly head.

In the 1980's, Hilton Head Island was the scene of a vicious murder of a beloved senior citizen newspaper carrier. With little in the way of clues, and no one in the enemy department, authorities had to wait 13 years for technology to help. Investigators were shocked to learn that the perpetrator was even allowed to walk the streets.

In 2011, a Newberry father of three was reported missing when he was absent from Sunday lunch. For weeks, investigators received leads and observed suspicious behavior, but never could get enough to crack the case. Once they started looking into a rekindled relationship, things began to be pieced together.

A mysterious man in a Myrtle Beach adult establishment wooed a local waitress with his heroic tales of being a double agent for The US Department of Defense. In reality, he was a master manipulator who did the unthinkable to the very people that gave him life.

In 2001, a discovery in an abandoned Conway home led police on an investigation into the life of a fun loving and genuinely nice guy. It seemed that he was the type of person loved by all, except the one that he didn't want to live anymore.

Born under a cloud of lies, an Irish immigrant girl and her family made their way to colonial South Carolina. Her tomboy upbringing combined with a rebellious streak was the perfect combination to create the fiercest female pirate in the history of the Western Hemisphere.
