Bill Tuiloma: All Whites Defender on signing with the Wellington Phoenix

The Wellington Phoenix have confirmed the signing of All Whites defender Bill Tuiloma on a two-and-a-half year deal. 

It's a long-awaited homecoming for the 30 year old, who has played more than 200 professional matches in France and the United States. 

Tuiloma will have to wait for the A-League's mid-season registration window to open next Wednesday before he is able to make his club debut. 

He told Piney he’s excited to get on the pitch and hopefully perform for the team.

Fewer people are getting involved, and more and more clubs, courts, and spaces are closing down or deteriorating.

New Zealand’s sports clubs are facing a critical deadline.  

By the 5th of April, 2026, all incorporated community sport organisations must re-register under the Incorporated Societies Act 2022. 

Less than half the country’s 7,000 clubs have registered so far, and failure to do so will result in voluntary dissolution.

Chair of the Amateur Sports Association, Gordon Noble-Campbell told Piney the first thing clubs should do is advise their members of the situation, and see what resources and assistance they have available.

Kiwi Lulu Sun is among those playing, along with superstar Venus Williams. 

Tournament director Nico Lamperin told Piney they’re extremely happy about the field they’ve managed to put together.  

He says the draw is a good reflection of some established players, world famous names, as well as the younger generation.

All Blacks winger Sevu Reece is off to France at the end of the next season.  

The 28-year-old has signed on for three years with French club Perpignan, leaving the Crusaders after eight seasons with the side. 

Reece has played 37 tests for New Zealand and is Super Rugby’s all-time leading try scorer with 66 tries. 

He told Piney it makes him so proud and happy knowing that he’s given everything to all of the teams he’s been a part of.

All Whites coach Darren Bazeley insists they won't be intimidated by any opponent at next year's Football World Cup. 

New Zealand have been placed in Group G alongside eighth-ranked Belgium, world number 20 Iran and 34th- ranked Egypt. 

Bazeley believes if circumstances fall in their favour they can advance into the new round of 32.

Auckland FC coach Steve Corica's voicing his disagreement with the first of two red cards they copped - despite prevailing in the opening New Zealand derby of the new season in football's A-League.

The visitors were 2-1 victors over the Phoenix in Wellington, but had to survive the sending offs of Dan Hall in the 49th minute and Logan Rogerson in the 79th.

Scotland cut it close, but they were ultimately defeated by the All Blacks in Murrayfield.

The Kiwi side left with a 25-17 win victory, despite allowing the Scots back into the game after halftime and get back to 17-all.

In spite of a second half collapse at Murrayfield, the All Blacks will head for London tomorrow with their Grand Slam hopes alive.

The 25-17 win against Scotland sees the All Blacks go two from two - despite having a 17-nil halftime lead whittled down in the second spell for the Scots to draw level.

All Blacks assistant coach Scott Hansen joined Piney to explain the win.
